We found this poem about the approaching New Year...any year really, but since 2018 is just before us, it made us think of how we would like to start the journey of another year.
May this new year find you healthier and happier,
peaceful, content, satisfied, looking forward
to fresh, revitalizing interests, a variety of pleasures,
interesting new people, material and personal successes
to make this new year the best one yet.
Happy New Year!
By Joanna Fuchs
So from the Hilgenfeld family to you, best wishes for a New Year that is full of promise and delight and one that is truly happy and blessed.
Candlelight Service of Remembrance
Our annual Candlelight Service of Remembrance took place the first Sunday of December as a start of the holiday season. Our beautiful Hilgenfeld Chapel was filled with families who suffered the loss of a loved one over the past year. This tradition, started when the family business was under the direction of my mother, Margie Hilgenfeld-Field, has become something that brings comfort to so many of our clients, as well as our staff. The holidays are not easy, especially when loss is so new. Gathering with others who share similar sorrows is cathartic and comforting. By celebrating the joys and wonders of this beautiful holiday combined with loving memories of those who passed, together we can enjoy the splendors of the season. Thank you to all those who attended for allowing us to share the holidays with you and your families. --- Becky Field Areias
