It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the passing of William Bennett Gossett, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 59. Born in Buena Park, California, William was the youngest of three children to Virginia and Donald Gossett. From a young age, he had a deep curiosity and a passion for learning, which led him to study electrical engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. He would go on to build a long and impactful career in the field, eventually becoming vice president of Whittier Mailing Products. William met the love of his life, Marta, in a chemistry class at Cypress College. They married in 1991 and raised two children, Dominique and Nicholas, with love, laughter, and endless support. He was always building things, solving puzzles, working around the house, and helping with school projects. He made learning exciting and life joyful. At age 31, William was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor while his wife was pregnant with their second child. Despite the odds, he was truly a miracle by beating the diagnosis and raising his children into adulthood. Through it all, he remained the strong one, quick with dry humor, always making others laugh even in the most difficult times. He loved adventure, music from the 1980s and 1990s, audiobooks, online games with his children, woodworking, and puzzle boxes. He was the kind, hands-on father who made every weekend feel like an adventure with his family through travel, beach days, and outdoor fun. William lived his life with quiet strength, humility, and boundless love. He was selfless, generous, kind, and wise. He gave everything to his family, creating a home filled with laughter, learning, and love. He will be missed more than words can say, and his legacy will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him. William is survived by his wife Marta, his children Dominique and Nicholas, his mother Virginia, his sisters Diana and Connie, and his nephews Christopher, Kevin, and Kyle.
