Maria Corazon Merino

Maria Corazon Merino, 85, passed away on February 25th, 2026. She was born in Cebu, Philippines, then moved to Los Angeles, California in 1978. She lived in Los Angeles majority of her life in the U.S. before spending the last ten years in Corona, CA residing with her daughter and family. A woman of immense kindness and unwavering faith in God, Maria carried a heart big enough for everyone. She loved without prejudice, forgave easily, and faced every circumstance with grace and strength. Her life was guided by service, caring deeply for her family and extending warmth, generosity, and compassion to all she encountered. Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Roremca Mabel Stuntz-Awbrey; her son-in-law, Robert Awbrey; her grandson, Sebastian Cabada; her granddaughter, Brianna Regalado; and her great-grandson, Jayce Maddox Regalado. She lived for her family, and her legacy of love and faith will live on in each of them.

Maria’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her spirit will continue to guide her family with the same love, faith, and gentleness she shared throughout her years.
