Cheryl Jean Eyjolfsson

Cheryl Eyjolfsson, daughter of Keith and Jean Murdoch, sister of Barbara, and a proud lifelong resident of Anaheim, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2026, at the age of 81. She spent the majority of her life in the city she loved, staying deeply rooted in her Anaheim community until the very end.

Cheryl was the beloved wife of Bjorn and a devoted mother to her five children: Kevin, Darren, Kimberly, Kristjana, and Kirsten. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Katelyn and Trevor, and a loving “aunt-mom” to Cameron. Her greatest joy was being Grandma to Michael, Sierra, Meghan, Conlan, Erin, Cameron, Darren II, Joshua, Nicholas, Zeke and the youngest, Gwendolyn. She was also a proud great-aunt to Percy and Devin. Anyone who spoke to Cheryl in the last few years knows how much her dog Bouncer meant to her, and she was glad to get home to see him before she passed. Cheryl was overjoyed to know she had two great grandchildren on the way. Meghan and her husband Matt welcomed a son, Gavin, on February 28th and Darren II and his wife Shelby are expecting a daughter in a few months. We know that they'll feel Cheryl's love even though she is no longer physically with us. Family was Cheryl’s greatest pride and life’s work. She loved fiercely, protected deeply, and stood strong for those she cared about. A true fighter until the end, she lived her life on her own terms and left this world the same way — exactly how she wanted.

Cheryl was a creative spirit. She spent many years bringing joy to others through her handcrafted clay creations in “Cher’s World,” pouring imagination and heart into every piece. She later channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into her retail business, “Madame Butterfly and Me,” where her warmth and creativity touched many. She also dedicated many meaningful years to serving children in the Anaheim City School District as an instructional aide for students with special needs, offering patience, compassion, and encouragement to every child she worked with. Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of strength, independence, creativity, and unconditional love. She is missed every single day and has left an unfillable void in the hearts of all who knew her. We love her deeply — always and in the same unwavering way she loved each of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on March 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Anaheim White House, please RSVP to a family member. Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of the wonderful friend, daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother she was — and will forever be in our hearts.
