Cynthia Thornton, 75, of Brea, California, passed away on April 2, 2026.

She was born on October 9, 1950, in Los Angeles to Mabel and Fred Saenz. Cindy, as she was lovingly known to family and friends, grew up in North Long Beach and carried the spirit of her roots with her throughout her life. She went on to become a talented and celebrated artist, expressing her creativity in ways that touched and inspired those around her.

Beyond her art, Cynthia found her greatest joy in caring for others. She loved cooking for family, spending meaningful time with those she held dear, and had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Cynthia is survived by her son, Jonathan, who hopes to follow in her footsteps of creativity and love. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Christine, Leticia, Regina, and Angie; her brother Michael; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.
