Yorba Linda, CA 92887Norouz (Hamid) Najdi Jafroodi passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Anaheim Hills, California, at the age of 93.
Born on March 26, 1933, in Iran, Hamid lived a remarkable life defined by intellect, kindness, curiosity, and devotion to family. He studied physics at Tehran University and went on to hold a leadership position within the National Iranian Oil Company before immigrating to the United States in the 1990s. Though he built a successful professional life, his greatest accomplishments were measured not in titles or achievements, but in the love and respect he earned from those around him.
Hamid was the beloved husband of Farideh Samiei and a devoted father to Shideh Rassoli, Shiva Jafroodi, and Shahin Jafroudi. He was a proud grandfather to Sasha Rassoli, Sherwin Rassoli, and Shabnam Jafroudi, all of whom were deeply enriched by his wisdom, humor, and unwavering love.
A lifelong student of literature, Hamid possessed an extraordinary memory and could recite countless poems from Hafez, Ferdowsi, and other Persian masters. He found beauty everywhere—in poetry, in nature, in animals, and in the people around him. He remained endlessly curious throughout his life, embracing new technology with enthusiasm and continuing to learn well into his nineties.
Those who knew Hamid remember a man of immense patience and generosity, someone who always looked for the good in others and never judged harshly. He cared for his family selflessly, gave freely of himself, and lived according to a simple belief: to do good, to love deeply, and to appreciate the beauty of life. His humor, wisdom, dignity, and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Hamid will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the example he set. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lessons he taught, and the countless lives he improved through his kindness. He will be deeply missed and forever loved."*" indicates required fields
