Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and so much love that we share the passing of Rosa Murphy, who died on June 28, 2026, at the age of 42. Rosa faced cancer with courage, strength, and grace, fighting hard to stay here for the person she loved most in this world: her son, Brennan.
Rosa was a beloved mom, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. But even those words do not fully capture who she was. Rosa had a rare gift for connection. She moved through the world with an open, generous heart, gathering friends wherever she went and quickly recognizing something special in others. She saw the best in people and helped them see their own greatness. She was, in so many ways, love personified.
That love was felt by everyone around her: her family and friends, the medical team who cared for her, and even the people who helped her navigate life’s practical details. Rosa made an impression because she made people feel seen, valued, and deeply cared for.
We will remember Rosa for her love of fun, her generous heart, her laugh, and her ability to bring joy to small everyday moments. We will remember her singing along to music, her gift for all things Excel, her ability to drop a well-timed movie quote, and her appreciation for a good pun, the kind that could make you laugh even when you tried not to.
Rosa was born on November 30, 1983, in Bellflower, California, and made her home in Brea, California. Her life included volunteering to support Brennan’s wrestling team, launching businesses to help people live their best lives, and working in accounting software. She competed in state-level volleyball, graduated in the top 10 of her class at Rubidoux High School, and earned straight A’s in college at Biola University. But no list of accomplishments or details could ever fully capture the light she brought into the lives of the people who loved her.
Above all, Rosa loved her son, Brennan, with her entire being. He was her greatest joy, her deepest love, and the reason she fought so hard. Her love for him was fierce, beautiful, and endless.
Rosa leaves behind her son, Brennan Murphy; her loyal pug, Choncho; her father, Stewart Yeomans; her sister, Wacarra Yeomans; and many relatives, friends, and loved ones who will miss her more than words can say.
Family and friends are invited to honor Rosa’s life at Hilgenfeld Mortuary on July 25, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
Rosa was loved beyond measure. She will be missed every day, remembered in countless small ways, and carried forward in the hearts of those who knew her.
