James Edward Prentice

James “Jim” Edward Prentice was born on September 29, 1954, in Norwalk, California. He grew up alongside his three older brothers Billy, David, and Steven. Jim was preceded in death by his brothers Billy and David, as well as his son Jimmy, and he carried with him a lifelong appreciation for the importance of family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Violette, his son Justin; stepson, Chris Anderson; and several cherished grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest happiness came from the time he shared with those he loved.

In addition to his devotion to family, Jim gave back to his community by volunteering as a coach for the Special Olympics. Through his kindness, patience, and encouragement, he touched the hearts of all of his players and made a lasting impact on their lives. Jim dedicated 40 years of his life to Frito-Lay, where his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment earned the respect of his coworkers and friends. After a long and successful career, he retired eight years ago, embracing the opportunity to spend more time doing what he loved most being with his family.

One of Jim’s greatest passions was traveling. Whether exploring new destinations or simply enjoying time together, he treasured creating lasting memories with his family. His adventures were never just about the places he visited, but about the people he shared them with. Those moments became stories that will continue to be told and cherished for generations.

Jim will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication, kind heart, and the love he showed his family. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the lives he touched.

Though he will be deeply missed, Jim’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to hard work, love, loyalty, and the importance of family. May we honor his memory by continuing to make memories together, just as he always encouraged.
