Carlos Augusto Delgado passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on November 9, 1933, in Escuintla, Guatemala, to Antonio Quizan and Maria de Jesus Delgado, Carlos shouldered responsibility early in life, supporting his family financially even as a young teen. Carlos worked many years on locomotives in Guatemala, which gave him stories to tell for the rest of his life.

Carlos’s early adulthood in Guatemala also included the arrival of his sons Luis and Cesar. At 44, he left Guatemala for the United States, ultimately making his home in California, where he embraced another chapter of his family life through two more children: his daughter Suzanne and his son Daniel.

Throughout every chapter, he valued independence fiercely, loved his family deeply, and dedicated himself to providing stability and opportunity for those he cared for.

Carlos is survived by his eldest son Luis and grandchildren Marcos and Ana; his daughter Suzanne and granddaughter Maria; and his son Daniel. He is also survived by his grandsons Harry and Cesar Jr., through his deceased son Cesar, and grandson Jorgito through his stepson Jorge.

A viewing will be held at Hilgenfeld Mortuary on Thursday, October 8th, from 4–7pm, with a rosary at 5:30pm. His funeral mass will take place at St. Boniface in Anaheim on Friday, October 9th, at 10am. Please come help celebrate the life of a man who never stopped working, hoping, and believing in a better future for those he loved.
