Teresa Maria Martinez passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1922, in Randsburg, California, at home to Guimina Montezuma and Casimiro Rayas. Teresa, lovingly known as Teri, was one of four siblings. She was preceded in death by her sisters Juanita (Jenny) and Valien (Belen), and her brother Francis (Frank) Rayas.
Teri was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She shared more than 40 years of marriage with her husband, Manuel Martinez. Together they lived in Anaheim, California, where they raised their children: Hortencia (Hortie), Gloria, Helen, and their son. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and an adored great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Teri was a remarkable woman who was loved by many for her warmth, kindness, wonderful sense of humor, and joyful personality. She was a perfect blend of gentleness & strength. She was the light in every room, cheerful, funny and famously known for her love of sweets. She took great pride in being a homemaker and found her greatest happiness in caring for her family. Above all, she always wanted the very best for those she loved.
There will never be another Teresa Martinez. Affectionately known as Nana by her family, she was truly one of a kind and the heart of the family. She will live on through the beautiful memories she leaves behind and in the hearts and prayers of all who loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. Our beloved Nana, our forever friend, mother, grandmother, and angel. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. It was a true blessing and privilege to have known and loved her for so many amazing years."*" indicates required fields
