Maria Guadalupe Padilla was born on February 21, 1949, in El Jaguey, Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Pablo Raygoza and Paulina Marquez.

She is survived by her children, Jose Luis Padilla, Amalia Padilla Molina, Juan Carlos Padilla, Paul Padilla, Bertha Montes, Leticia Maria Sanchez, Ismael Padilla, Abel Padilla, and Elia Padilla. She is also survived by her sister Maria Cruz Ortega and brothers Feliciano Raygoza, Vicente Raygoza, and Mariano Raygoza. She has 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is known to most as Lupe, Grandma Lupe, or Ama Lupita.

Lupe raised her children and cared for many nieces and nephews, who still refer to her as their second Mom.

Lupe's heart was overflowing with love, and she uniquely made everyone feel cherished. Her circle of friends and family was plentiful, and she formed deep connections with all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lupe's personality was a beacon of joy and love. Her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and role as a trusted confidant brought laughter and light into the lives of many.

Lupe's cooking was legendary. Her tamales, enchiladas, salsas, rice and beans were the best and made you feel at home as you enjoyed them. Every dish she made had her 'sason' that could never be replicated.

Lupe was a woman of faith, which was a cornerstone of Lupe's life. She was a devout Catholic and attended church regularly. She was sure to participate in church on Sundays and all church events. She enjoyed breakfast after church with friends, attending el grupo de Adoracion, Rosary, retreats or the annual church Fiesta with Friends.

Lupe had a very active and social life. There was no shortage of invitations to birthdays, weddings, graduations, baby showers, and other events. Everyone always counted on her attendance with Jello, her famous rice in tow or her loving presence.

Lupe loved to travel and have adventures in new places. She was always eager to learn about different cultures and traditions. She traveled to England, France, Italy, Portugal, Canada, Spain, the USA, and her beloved Mexico, creating core memories with those she traveled with.

Lupe took great pride in her work with the Anaheim School District, where she served as a beloved Elementary School Yard Supervisor at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School for 20 years. With warmth, dedication and a watchful heart, she helped guide and care for generations of students. Always treating them as they were her own. Her presence on the playground or in the classroom was more than just a job, it was a calling, and she fulfilled it with joy and love every single day. She touched many students' lives, and they would approach her outside of school to greet her and call her teacher or Maestra Padilla. These students sometimes recognized her many years later as adults and couldn't pass up the opportunity to say hello and thank her for being their "teacher" and the advice she would provide.

Lupe leaves a lasting legacy of unconditional love, unwavering faith, and quiet strength. Her absence is deeply felt, and we are forever grateful to have known and loved such a beautiful soul.

Her memory will live on in every life she touched. All her family and friends will forever carry her love in their hearts.

    Siempre bendecida, siempre amada.
