• Andrew C. Valdez

    Birth: June 18, 1938 | Died: November 29, 2023

Andrew C. Valdez, known by friends and family as Andy, Ciriaco, or Caco, passed away peacefully with loved ones at his bedside on November29, 2023, in Menifee, CA.

Andrew was born to Amador Valdez and Manuela Ramirez in Anaheim, CA on June 18, 1938. He married Rosalie Herrera, and raised seven children in Anaheim, CA just around the corner from Disneyland and the Big “A.” His loves of cars and industrious spirit intersected with his several years as an automotive painter, muffler installer, and last as a driver delivering furniture and paper goods throughout Southern California. After several years of dedicated service, he retired to spend time with his grandchildren, sharing with them stories from his youth, and teaching them his love of cars, how to ride bicycles, and the joys of fishing off the pier. Later in life when he could no longer ride on his infamous blue bicycle, he could be found at home tuning into the great adventures of his favorite western stars, John Wayne and Richard Boone, or enjoying his favorite game show, The Price is Right. He loved going to baseball games and was always ready to make a quick trip to the casino, where he knew how to find the “hot” machine.

Adrew is preceded in death by his wife Rosalie Valdez, daughter Desiree Lynne, grandson Mason Valdez, and his siblings Alfonso, Alfred, Manuel, Eva Velazquez, Irene Guzman, and Amelia Cabral, and joins the company of his compadres Paul Garcia and Richard Estrada. Andrew is survived by his children, Henry (Kathy), Mike, Debbie Hobbs, Tina (Mubashir) Maqbool, Melody (Bill) Alden, Joyce Valdez, and Sheryl (Brett) Goessman, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and his surviving siblings Steve Valdez, Jess Valdez, Mary Salazar, and Alice Romeros.

A viewing and rosary will be held at 4:00-7:00 pm on January 3, 2024, at Hilgenfeld Mortuary, Anaheim, CA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on January 4, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church Anaheim, CA.
