Bob was born and raised in North Royalton, Ohio. His early days were filled with football, basketball, track meets, baseball, and farm work. After graduating from high school, he came to Southern California and attended Santa Monica City College. After serving in the United States Marines, and while attending California State University at Long Beach, he met Esther, who later became his wife.

He enjoyed teaching and coaching various sports at Western High School in Anaheim for 35 years. Water skiing, snow skiing, kayaking, stock car racing, and long-distance cycling have been some of his many activities before and during his retirement.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 57 years, two sons, two grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Services have been held.
