Mary Jo Hesketh

Birth: October 3, 1930 | Died: September 21, 2022

Born in Los Angeles in the Summer of 1930 to Charles and Helen Keaty, Mary Jo, as she insisted she be called, was their second eldest daughter. She graduated from Huntington Park High School and attended spousal classes with her husband at the Art Center College of Design. Together, in 1955, they started what the family would call the studio, the lab, our business.

The business, still thriving in Anaheim today, began her service and involvement with her Anaheim community. She was a member of the Soroptimist club and the Woman’s Division of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and a participant in the annual Halloween parade. In her other careers in the insurance and hospitality industries her community service continued with the YWCA, the Assistance League, and the Anaheim Hospital Guild. In her later years, Mary Jo was an exercise instructor for the Arthritis Foundation. Retiring at 88, she was their oldest instructor. A record still waiting to be broken.

Mary Jo is survived by her two sons John and Matthew, her grandchildren Christen, Sean, Charles, Heather and Holly, and her great-grandchildren Caleb, Emery, Copper, and Sloan.
