Our only beloved brother Rafael Martinez Acevedo passed away on Saturday July 23, 2022. He was born on August 29, 1980, in Anaheim, CA to Arnoldo Arellano Acevedo and Raquel Martinez Acevedo. He was 41 years old. Rafael lived in Anaheim, CA all his life. He graduated from La Sierra Vista High School in 1998 in Fullerton, CA. He worked varies jobs throughout his life. He worked mostly as a forklift operator at a warehouse in Anaheim, CA. Our brother will be remembered as a caring and loving brother, uncle and friend. A rockabilly at heart. He loved to dress 50’s style. He enjoyed strutting around in a nice Hawaiian shirt, his 501’s and Levi denim jacket. Along with his Harley Davidson boots or converse. He was fond of music. He liked to listen to Morrissey and Johnny Cash.

Our brother was carefree and lived his life his way and on his terms. He enjoyed being around his sisters and close family members. Being funny and silly to his nieces and nephews when he could, he would make us laugh. Especially when he would dance in front us. He liked to crack jokes and say crazy things to get our attention. Rafael’s favorite pass time was hanging with friends. He was known as “Ralphy boy” to many that knew him. He enjoyed being outdoors. He especially liked going to the beach.

The most virtuous thing about our brother was helping those in need. Especially the homeless. He fed them, clothed them, offered them a place to stay. Even when he didn’t have much to give, he gave them all he had. He cared about them. He always showed empathy for others. Our brother had faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Brother, we loved you with all your imperfections. We knew you loved us too. So young! You left us too soon. You will surely be missed every single day. Rest in peace baby brother. Rafael is survived by his five siblings, Christina, Ruby, Raquel, Alicia, and Marisela. His nieces and nephews, Monica, Valerie, Victoria, Ashley, Adrian, Camila, Katherine, Priscilla and Andrew.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel. Mass will be held on Monday August 22, 2022, at 10:00 am, St Boniface Church. Followed by graveside service at 11:30 am, Loma Vista Memorial Park.
