Orange, CA 92869Heinz, Raymond Aloysius, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, with his daughters at his side. Born on December 25, 1930, our family’s Christmas baby, to Joseph and Catherine Heinz in Anaheim, CA; he was the thirteenth child of fifteen.
Raymond graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach, CA and graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. He was a very proud member of the United States Air National Guard, Active and Reserves, for almost forty years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Raymond met his beautiful bride Helen, while he was stationed in Ellington, TX and they married on February 23, 1957. He worked as a Technical Engineer for over 40 years, and enjoyed ham radios, gardening, farming, and woodworking.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his son John Raymond, and his parents. He is survived by his daughters Teresa (Mark) Perlite and Mara Castaneda; his five grandsons (Derek, Luke, John, Brandon, and Tyler) and his eight great-grandchildren (Gianna, Landin, Davin, Maya, Logan, Aria, Liam, and Koby). Raymond is also survived by his sister, Luci (Frank) Karcher.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 between 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Hilgenfeld Mortuary, 120 E. Broadway, Anaheim. A traditional Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel, 9621 Bixby Avenue, Garden Grove, CA, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10:00AM; a Rosary will be recited before the Mass.
