Richard William Millard, born on February 29, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, peacefully passed away in his sleep on November 30, 2023, in Anaheim, California. Richard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, children Michael and Michelle, grandchildren Juliette, Ayumi, Aiden, Ethan, Gracie, and Kyle, and daughter-in-law Tanya. A dedicated family man, Richard worked for a Chicago billboard company from the age of 15 until the age of 23 when he enlisted in the United States Army as a military policeman. He was later honorably discharged from the Army in 1965. Settling in Burbank, California, he continued his career in the billboard media industry. Richard met his wife, Elizabeth, in Las Vegas during a singles trip, and they married on June 14, 1969. Actively involved in the St. Finbar church community in Burbank and later at St. Anthony Claret in Anaheim, Richard served as a eucharistic minister and participated in the First Friday Friars, a Catholic men’s group. Engaged in various charitable activities, he and Elizabeth fostered Vietnamese refugee children through Holy Family Adoption Services before adopting Michael and Michelle. After 50+ years of work, Richard retired in 2005, embarking on numerous family-centered travels worldwide. Diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015, he faced health challenges but continued his active lifestyle until 2020 when the pandemic impacted his mobility. Richard stayed in his family home until he needed additional care, then resided in a Placentia facility until his final moments when God called him home. Remembered as an exceptional son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Richard's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his family
