    Rudy G. Rivera, 89, of Anaheim, CA, entered eternal life peacefully at home on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

    Rudy was born in Corona, CA on November 30, 1931 and enjoyed his childhood with his brothers and sisters on Rancho Santa Ana.  He graduated from Valencia High School in Placentia and continued his education to earn an AA degree from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.

    Rudy proudly served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 as a Corporal Infantryman with the 7th Division’s 17th Regiment.  He could hardly wait for his safe return home to marry the love of his life, Anita Mejia.

    Rudy and Anita were married in October 1955 and were blessed with four children. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary together with family and friends in 1980.  After the untimely death of his beautiful wife Anita in 1982, Rudy, with unconditional love, dedicated the rest of his life to his family.

    Rudy worked as a carpenter and foremen for Klein Construction and Ben Viloria Construction until he retired.  He enjoyed horse racing, Angel baseball games and was a huge Galaxy soccer fan.  He attended the Angels World Series and two Galaxy MLS Cups.

    Rudy is survived by his children Anthony, Michael, Robert and Lisa, grandchildren Mathew and Owen, great grandchildren Chloe and Sophie and his brothers Hank and Art and other family and friends.

    Rudy is preceded in death by his mother Ruth “Cuca”, father Juan, brothers Raul and Joe, and sisters Mary, Sally and Hortencia.

    Formal viewing will be held on Friday, July 9 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel at 120 E. Broadway, Anaheim, CA 92805.  Funeral service will     be held on Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 am at Hilgenfeld Mortuary Chapel.  Interment will follow the funeral at 12:30 pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Rd, Orange, CA 92869.
