Shari Lynne Schaefer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 3rd, at the age of 63. She was so loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She was born on May 15th, 1963, to Pete and Carol Ogan. She lived a life full of love, fun, determination, hard work, and commitment to her family and friends. Shari married Don Schaefer on January 25th, 1986, and began to build a life filled with cherished memories, children, grandchildren, and lots of laughter. Don and Shari celebrated 40 years of marriage last January. Together, they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren to whom she was deeply devoted and built her life around. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren and was so happy to be a part of their lives. Shari loved creating special memories with each of them.
Determined to be available for her children and family, Shari built and operated her own business, Schaefer Medical Billing, for 28 years. She took great pride in her work and made relationships in her work life the same way she made them in her real life… with genuine care and concern. She was fiercely independent, hardworking, but always found a way to make time for anyone who needed her. She took care of everyone!
To know Shari was to love Shari… and to want to be around her. She had a way of making you feel special and loved. She would make you feel like you could do anything you wanted to, and she was so supportive. Every get-together was a reason for a party, and she could whip together great party food (bruschetta was a specialty). Shari was there to support her children as they pursued their passions… hours spent at musical theater productions, ice skating rinks, baseball fields, the pool deck/snack shack, and weightlifting competitions.
Shari left us far too soon, but the memories she created, the lessons she left us with, and the love she gave will be with her family and friends forever.
Shari was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ogan, and her brother, Jeffrey Ogan.
Shari is survived by her loving husband, Donald Schaefer; her stepdaughter, Andrea Schaefer Lincoln (James); her children, Peter Schaefer (Megan), Katherine Schaefer Ledesma (Daniel), and Danielle Schaefer (Alex). Six grandchildren: Harrison Lincoln, Carter Lincoln, Pierce Lincoln, Leonardo Ledesma, Javier Ledesma, and Elias Ledesma. Her mother, Carol Ogan, and her sister, Kristie Falcioni (Gregory).
The viewing will be held at Hilgenfeld Mortuary on August 14th from 4 pm-7 pm 120 E. Broadway, Anaheim, CA 92805
