In Memory of Roberta L. Moreland born January 22, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Robert L. Moreland and Kate Mary Sherbon Moreland and had two brothers and one sister, all have passed. Her family moved to Kansas where she lived, went to Wichita High School and Kansas State University. She moved to California in the early 70’s and raised her two daughters, worked as a Preschool Director for many years and eventually landed a job at Cal State University, Long Beach where she worked in the Provost office, Faculty Center and from there took a position in the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s office as the executive administrator to the Dean’s. She was an exceptional staff member and appreciated by all. Bobbi was a sweet, wonderful person, great mom, and loving grandma. She loved to sing and dance. She and her partner, Wendell, were part of the OC Larrat’s square dance club and taught others how to square dance and enjoyed some country fun. Other favorites of Bobbi’s were her passion for gardening, planting flowers and vegetables. Bobbi was a certified Master Gardener. She designed bird houses and Wendell made them to decorate their outdoor garden spaces. Antiques and collecting pink depression glass were some of her hobbies, as well, and were in every room in the house. She loved her grandchildren and was a huge help in their care as they grew up with working parents. She has always been a very special grandma to all of them with great memories growing up. From Bobbi milk shakes to baseball games, she was involved with her grandchildren. Bobbi has battled Alzheimer's disease for the last 10 years, but it could not take away her sweet personality, beautiful blue eyes and the best smiles ever. I’ve been her mom (daughter-Julie Ortiz) during this time and loved every minute of caring for her. Painting her nails, looking at garden magazines, holding hands and watching her favorite show, America’s Funniest Videos, together were some of the good memories with her. She is survived by her partner, Wendell Harms, her daughter, Julie Ortiz, David Ortiz (husband), adult grandchildren- Nickolas Ortiz, Savannah Ortiz and Nolan Ortiz (Anaheim, CA). The Harms Family, Lisa Harms (Anaheim, CA), Wendy and Larry Collie, sons- Nathan Collie and Joshua Collie (Lake Forest, CA). Daughter, Jill Hecomovich, Paul Hecomovich (husband), adult granddaughters- Emily Hecomovich and Murielle Hecomovich (Cenntenial, CO).
